Green Zinnias

Here is the latest creation from my new hobby! Do you see the little blue boy peeking out from behind the purple flower? Everyone I've shown the picture to says it looks like a profile. It was completely by accident that it turned out that way. Sorry again (to my 2 or 3 readers) for the horrible photo quality. I was once again without a camera and had to resort to a cell phone.

Alabama vs. Western Carolina

Jeremy bought us tickets to see the Crimson Tide play and experience Nick Saban's Alabama coaching debut. We had a great time and the Tide won so everyone was happy! My Tigers won, too, but I have to say I was worried about them for a while. Football season is interesting for Jeremy and me, since he went to Alabama and I went to Auburn. As you can see I was a good girlfriend and wore my crimson to the game. I'll pull for Alabama as long as they're not playing Auburn.
Next weekend we are going to Nashville to see The Tide take on Vandy. As a Nashville native and huge Vandy fan, I've already told Jeremy I'll be sporting black and gold for that one - Go 'Dores! Here are some pictures from Saturday.

The view from our seats

A friend of mine made me these super cute earrings to wear to the game. If you like them, let me know! She sells them for just $10 a pair, can make them in any teams colors, and the picture really doesn't do them justice.

And Then on Sunday Afternoon....

I concentrated really, really hard...
And managed to come up with this...

I even got Jeremy in on the action. Here is his work in progress...

Editor's note: Neither of these are original ideas from Jeremy or myself. We found the paintings online and tried to recreate them, while adding some of our own touches.

How I Spent My Saturday Afternoon...

I couldn't get into the class to paint this painting, so I decided to try it on my own. After 2 hours this is what I came up with:

Not bad, huh?

Beachin' It!

Jeremy and I took a weekend trip to the lovely Gulf Shores, Alabama last weekend. We had a great time and it was nice to get out of town for a little while AND it was the first trip Jeremy and I have taken to the beach together.
We arrived Friday night and set up the camper for the weekend. Jeremy's mom and step-dad have it stored in Gulf Shores for the summer and were nice enough to let us use it for the weekend. I had no idea how much was involved in setting up a camper - power, cable, sewer - lots of work and I didn't even get a picture of it! Oops!
Saturday we had a yummy breakfast at Hazel's Nook and then hit the beach! Not a bad view, huh?

After our day at the beach we were really hungry! We went to dinner at Jolly Rogers in Orange Beach. I had the best Crab Stuffed Mushroom ever and enjoyed this view while dining.
We decided to check out The Wharf after dinner and ride the ferris wheel - and eat ice cream, of course!
We headed home Sunday, but not before stopping at Burris Farm Market in Loxley, Alabama for some fresh peach cobbler, ice cream, and strawberries. Oh yes, we at our way through the weekend! Next time I go somewhere I will be better about documenting it in pictures - I'm still new to this blogging thing! :)

Happy Birthday Corie and Ashley!

A few weeks ago I went out with some friends for a little birthday celebration! I started off the evening by showing how nicely my dress matched Corie's new rug!

And then posing for a few pictures with the birthday girls - Corie and Ashley!
Corie and I posed for a few pictures in front of this fountain in Homewood...

And then had a yummy dinner at Jackson's. Here's Corie with Kurt and Brian...

And me with Landon, Ashley, and Jonathan...

On to The Barking Kudu to see one of the best party bands around...U.S! Here's me, Dawn, Ashley, and Corie living it up!

Happy Birthday, girls! I hope it was the BEST. BIRTHDAY. EVER!
