Out of Control!!
...but I am not complaining! Look at all these tomatoes (and zucchini and squash!) With the exception of 6 of those little red guys ALL of this came from MY back yard. I can't even believe it!
I really didn't either. We just dug up a spot for a garden, started planting, and voila, tomatoes! We lost a few plants, so better soil will definitely be in order for next year!
I'm so impressed - what a haul - isn't this your first garden?? I'm already shopping seed catalogs and planning mine for next year. The problem - I want to plant way more than I have yard for (and I have a ginormous yard...). Pass on any tips you've learned!!
It is my first garden. Honestly, we just tilled the soil, threw in some manure, and started planting. I started with three each yellow squash and zucchini and only ended up with one of each because the soil wasn't rich enough. I'm going to compost like crazy this fall and see if I can richen the soil a bit. I also used Miracle Gro on the tomatoes and that seemed to help. I just wanted to do it to see if I could and it worked out better than I expected. It's all trial and error! Good luck!
A glimpse into our life and what we're doing these days. I write, mostly, so I won't forget these years with my kids and husband. Jeremy and I have 2 littles: GC and JR that keep us hopping!

And p.s. All my plants came from either Lowe's or Wal-Mart and they have done GREAT!
