I Can't Help But Watch

Every year I swear that I won't get hooked into the ratings giant that is American Idol. Sadly, every year I fail and I get hooked and can't stop watching. Last night I decided who my favorite guy is....Mr. David Archuleta. You can see his performance of "Imagine" from last night here: http://www.redlasso.com/ClipPlayer.aspx?id=4b915125-3fed-4ed1-9175-57ce956b8ccf

I'm also a fan of Michael Johns and David Hernandez.

My picks to go home: Luke Menard (gag!), Jason Yeager (Seriously, those fist pumps at the end of his performance?!?! Could he BE any cheesier??), or Danny Noriega (double gag! Sure, the kid can sing alright, but seriously I don't see people getting on board to buy tickets to see him perfom live.)

Memorial Magic Strikes Again!!

No. 14 Vanderbilt - 72

No. 1 University of Tennessee - 69

And that's all I have to say about that!

I hear...

....that on tonight's "LOST" we find out who Kate was referring to when she said, "He'll be wondering where I am" to Jack in last season's finale! I hope it's true!

Who do YOU think it is???

No Bravo

I love living in Tuscaloosa, really, I do. The one thing that kills me is the lack of Bravo - the network. We have Comcast cable and for some crazy reason Bravo is not included in their line up. That means NO Real Housewives of Orange County, NO Inside the Actors Studio, NO Blow Out (I know, it's not even on anymore, but still), NO Make me a Supermodel, and worst of all NO Project Runway. My sister has been Tivoing PR for me all season and I'm pretty much caught up. I'm going home next weekend and I'm excited to watch the final 3 episodes. I do have other reasons for going home, but PR is definitely a priority! The lengths I'll go to for my shows. Kinda sad, huh?

Call me Susie....Susie Homemaker that is!

I love to cook. I'm not fancy about it, but it is one of my most favorite things to do. Now that I have someone else in my life to cook for it is much more fun. Cooking for one is not fun. Cooking for two or more is my cup of tea!

Anyway, the other night I made Brunswick Stew and cornbread and it was SO good. I thought I'd share the recipe for anyone who'd like to try it! Enjoy!

Brunswick Stew

1 lb. ground beef (or turkey) browned
1 small onion, diced
2 - 5 oz. cans chicken (finely separated)
1 can whole kernel corn
1 can cream-style corn
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 - 14 oz. bottle of ketchup
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
dash worchestershire sauce

Brown beef with onion until completely cooked. Combine all ingredients in a crock pot and mix well. Cook on LOW heat for 8-9 hours. Serve with cornbread, crackers, or grilled cheese sandwiches. (Some people like to add green peas or diced potatoes, but I like it this way.)

The best part of cooking this is that when you get home from work after it's been cooking all day your house smells fabulous!

I'm more confused than ever....

...and I love it! How good is LOST this season? I am loving all the new characters, the flash-forwards, the dead girls with matching bracelets (hmmm?), the creepy dudes that don't blink (has anyone else noticed that Ben and uber-creepy Mr. Abbadon never blink?!), and after last night I am certain that I have a major crush on Sayid. Sawyer, Jack, and Locke (yes, Locke!) were givens, but after last night I love Sayid, too. Why on earth is Sayid working for Ben? Who is Ben's mole on the freighter? Why did Hurley trick Kate & Co.? What on earth happened on that island that is so bad? Why does Hurley regret going with Locke? Where is Jacob's cabin now? Do you have to be a little crazy to see it? The answers are going to come eventually, but for now I am enjoying being completely LOST!

Hershey's Has Done it Again

Have you tried these?? They are Hershey Kisses filled with CHEESECAKE filling! You heard me right, cheesecake! A friend of mine at work brought them to the office the other day and they are definitely a hit. I'm assuming she found them at Wal-Mart. I couldn't find them on Hershey's website, but you should definitely keep an eye out for them. They are a perfect little treat.

*Excuse the poor photo quality. I was sitting at my desk and had to use my camera phone, but I wanted you to see what they looked like.*

The Warm Glow of the Television

The strike is over! Get ready for some of your favorite shows to come back! Sadly, 24 probably won't be on the schedule until 2009, but I can live without Jack Bauer as long as I get the back 8 episodes of this season of LOST!

I love Friday Night Lights!

Is anyone out there with me? Seriously, it is one of the best shows on TV that you're probably not watching. Season 1 is available on DVD now - rent it, buy it, watch it! Season 2 (all 15 episodes that we got) will be available in April, so it's not too late to get on board.

And if more people don't start supporting this show, we just might lose it forever!

So tune in and tell me who YOUR favorite Panther is!

Welcome to the Blog

My sister Molly finally decided to join the blogging world. It's about time! She's a great writer, so I know you'll all enjoy reading her blog - especially if you're a TV fan like she and I are.
